Home of the Blue Crabs of Character

February 27, 2017 marked the beginning of a new era in education for me. After 18 years with 2 different schools within the District of Columbia Public Schools, I bring my talents to St Georges Drive in Waldorf, Maryland where I will join the staff of The Blue Crabs of Character at Mary B. Neal Elementary School of Charles County (MD) Public Schools to be their Visual Arts teacher.

Even with a new school setting, my teaching style has not changed not one bit. I still feel that the purpose of Elementary Art is to expose students to the tactile, tangible, hands-on learning experiences students need for overall academic and social growth to prepare for high school, college, career, and beyond. I will do this by supporting content knowledge acquisition and providing concrete, real-world life skills that will stay with students for a lifetime. I will meet students where they are and serve as a gateway to learning across the content areas, and I will promote critical thinking and problem solving.

Here are a list of upcoming projects for the 2017-18 School Year at Neal.
